Falcons Face Off: Match One Coming in January 2011

Mrs. Moore's Battle Plans

Welcome students in Mrs. Moore's English I classes! I am so happy you have decided to participate in Falcons Face Off!

As you have been studying Greek mythology, you've learned about some supernatural characters with some pretty legit powers. Now is your chance to pit god against goddess in a battle of epic porportions.

These battles must be original, not borrowed from the real myths. However, the powers your gods and goddesses wield will be taken directly from your studies. In other words, you can't add powers. It's like rock-paper-scissors and you write the winning battle blow!

Directions:

1. Decide which two characters from the myths you will pair up in battle. (List available from your teacher.)

2. Write a narrative describing what happens between these two. (Remember, this will be published online and students at all grade-levels will be able to read it. Be appropriate.)

Be sure your battle ends with a clear winner.

3. Email your battle to acmoore@spsmail.org and watch for it to be posted to Falcons Face Off!

Voting will begin on February 28th. Visit the Falcons Face Off page to read and to vote.
